Welcome to Business & Technology!

About Me
As a business and technology educator at Palestine High School, I leverage my extensive background as an entrepreneur and corporate leader to provide students with a blueprint for professional success. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that students must understand the mechanics of risk-taking while mastering the "T-shaped" skills required by the 2026 workforce: deep technical expertise combined with the ability to cross-train across an organization.

My goal is to empower Palestine students to become self-aware, disciplined, and technically proficient leaders ready to contribute to any organization from day one.

Our Courses

  • Marketing: Explore the intersection of psychology and business. Students learn to analyze market trends, evaluate consumer behavior, and manage professional resources effectively—building the exact skills corporate leaders look for in entry-level employees.

  • Computer Applications: A safe, rigorous training ground for developing digital literacy and core technical competency. This class ensures students are fully proficient in industry-standard software before entering the job market.

  • Computer Science 1: An introductory look at logic, structural thinking, and coding fundamentals. Students build critical problem-solving skills through hands-on technical programming focused on Python and Microsoft.

  • Unity (Computer Science 2): Diving deeper into advanced development. Students use the professional Unity engine to design interactive environments and programs, mastering complex workflows and spatial computing mechanics. Students also have access to 3D printing.

  • Postsecondary Readiness & Consumer Economics (Seniors Only): A specialized capstone preparing students for exactly "what comes next" after high school graduation. This course bridges the gap between school and the real world by offering job shadowing opportunities, financial literacy training, and targeted preparation for college, the workforce, or both.

Classroom Philosophy & Expectations

The Professional Laboratory
To mirror today’s high-stakes work environments, our classroom utilizes performance-based tasks. Students solve real-world problems through a mix of collaborative team efforts and individual ownership. Every student will build a foundation on self-awareness, self-control, and a drive to succeed.

Student-Led Governance
We treat our space like a corporate office. Students are tasked with developing their own behavioral norms and actively discussing when adjustments are needed to maintain a collaborative, productive atmosphere.

Incentivized Results
Hard work is met with professional autonomy. Students who meet daily objectives are rewarded with flexible time at the end of the period to socialize or manage other academic priorities—simulating the true environment of a modern, results-oriented workplace.
